Madhya Railway News: बाढ़ की रोकथाम और निर्बाध रेल सेवाओं को सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम में, मध्य रेल का नागपुर मंडल रेल अस्पताल, नागपुर के पीछे ब्रिज बैरल और नाले की व्यापक सफाई कर रहा है। यह महत्वपूर्ण परियोजना, जिसमें 115 मीटर लंबे ब्रिज बैरल की सफाई शामिल है, का उद्देश्य भारी बारिश के दौरान बाढ़ के खतरे को कम करना है।

ब्रिज बैरल की सफाई का पहला चरण सफलतापूर्वक पूरा हो चुका है, और अब दूसरे चरण की सफाई के प्रयास चल रहे हैं। इसके साथ ही, नागपुर नगर निगम (एनएमसी) के साथ गहन समन्वय के बाद, पुल के ऊपरी हिस्से के नाले को भी साफ किया जा रहा है।

ब्रिज बैरल और नाले दोनों की सक्रिय सफाई से भारी बारिश के दौरान जल प्रवाह पर महत्वपूर्ण सकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ने की उम्मीद है, जिससे संभावित बाढ़ को रोका जा सकेगा। यह पहल 23 सितंबर, 2023 को आई है, जब नागपुर यार्ड सहित लगभग पूरा नागपुर शहर जलमग्न हो गया था। बाढ़ के कारण जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया और रेल यातायात रुक गया था क्योंकि नागपुर यार्ड के सभी ट्रैक जलमग्न हो गए थे।

पुल और नाले के माध्यम से अबाधित जल प्रवाह सुनिश्चित करके, सफाई के प्रयासों से नागपुर यार्ड को बाढ़ से मुक्त रखने में मदद मिलेगी। इसके अतिरिक्त, नदी के ऊपरी और निचले दोनों किनारों पर नाले से सटे क्षेत्रों को भी लाभ होगा, जिससे इन क्षेत्रों में बाढ़ का डर कम हो जाएगा।

In a significant step towards flood prevention and ensuring uninterrupted rail services, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway is undertaking the extensive cleaning of the Bridge Barrel and Nallah behind the Railway Hospital, Nagpur. This vital project, which includes cleaning the 115-meter-long Bridge Barrel, aims to mitigate the risk of flooding during heavy rains.

The first span of the Bridge Barrel cleaning has been successfully completed, and efforts are now underway to clean the second span. Simultaneously, the Nallah on the upstream side of the Bridge is also being cleaned, following thorough coordination with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).

The proactive cleaning of both the Bridge Barrel and the Nallah is expected to have a significant positive impact on the water flow during heavy rains, thereby preventing potential flooding. This initiative comes in response to the severe flash floods experienced on September 23, 2023, when almost the entire city of Nagpur, including the Nagpur yard, was submerged. The flooding brought life to a standstill and halted railway traffic as all tracks in the Nagpur yard were inundated.

By ensuring unobstructed water flow through the Bridge and Nallah, the cleaning efforts will help keep the Nagpur yard free from floods. Additionally, areas adjoining the Nallah on both the upstream and downstream sides will also benefit, reducing the fear of floods in these regions.
